- Growing up in south St. Louis, I attended the Honors Art Program with the St. Louis City Public Schools. I earned my A.A.S. in Commercial Art and Photography from
- St. Louis Community College; then attended the Columbus College of Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio, where I received my B.F.A., majoring in Illustration and Graphic Design.
The majority of my career has been spent in commercial photography - starting out as a darkroom technician and working as a freelance photographic assistant to a wide range of photographers. As a commercial photographer my work has encompassed both studio and location productions, in a variety of areas including product, architectural, interior, commercial portrait and public relations.
The past several years I’ve been working with digital imaging as another tool. Through the use of the computer I’ve come full circle, blending my love of illustration and the silver image, with my need to control the final outcome of the artwork.
My goals vary from project to project- sometimes keeping the photographic image totally intact, while other times using the photograph as a starting point and moving out from there to parts unknown. Trying to use each tool to it’s best advantage, I strive to create art that communicates and intrigues the viewer.
